Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is a Sanskrit word which means “smell of the horse”. Other names for ashwagandha are Indian ginseng and winter cherry. It is referred as adaptogen because it fights against stress. It is one of the most important herbs used in ayurvedic treatment and is based on the principle of natural healing. It helps to reduce the inflammation and growth of tumor due to the presence of withanolides. Withanolides are a group of steroids which helps to increase the communication between the brain cells. Ashwagandha has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidizing, anti-stress, sleep-inducing and drug withdrawal properties. It is native of India and north Africa.
